Vibrant discussion of current issues keeps our democracy strong and healthy.  As events unfold across our national stage or in the heart of our community, the Democratic Party of Evanston encourages the expression of many perspectives on our website, but always within the tenor of civility.  So, in welcoming you to the our website, we hope everyone will remain mindful of President George Washington's caution, "Every action done in company ought to be with some sign of respect to those that are present."

You do not need to be a member of the Democratic Party of Evanston to contribute comments to current blog postings, but you must register on the site with a verifiable email address.  This will enable you to log-in as a user on the site, and will enable us to contact you.  Please review our Privacy Policy for terms and usage of personal information.

Comments on the site are not initially moderated and are posted immediately. We monitor posts for unacceptable content as described below, and respond to complaints of content, without undue delay.

Please be friendly and courteous to all who are posting on the site.  The Democratic Party of Evanston does not consider freedom of speech to extend to personal attacks of others, disruptive behavior of any kind, or any postings which contain threatening, lewd or vulgar material, or messages which are hateful or in any way racially, sexually or ethnically objectionable.  Those who are 18 years of age and younger are interested in their community, too, so if your comments are inappropriate for minors, please do not share them on our website.  Additionally, advertising, self-promotion, spamming and flaming are all prohibited.

All such postings of this nature will be deleted, and may result in the contributor being banned from the site.  Do not re-post commentary that has been deleted by a moderator on this site or any other forum as this may also lead to revocation of posting privileges.  If you find a posting to be offensive, please contact us at info@dpoe.org so that we may address it.

Please be mindful of the privacy of other users on the site.  Don't post people's birthdays, private phone numbers or addresses, or other kinds of information that could facilitate identity theft.  Do not collect information on users, such as their email addresses, for use outside the Democratic Party of Evanston community.  Also, infringement on the copyrights, trademarks, intellectual property rights, or any other rights of a third-party is prohibited.

Please use proper grammar and spelling, and refrain from typing in "all caps" as many consider this to be the written equivalent of shouting.
