The Democratic Party of Evanston, working with Organizing for America, is training and mobilizing volunteers to work for Democratic victories.  We'll be reconnecting with the thousands of people, here in Evanston and in the 10th Congressional District, who cast their first votes ever to send Barack Obama to the White House.  The numbers are clear: if we can get these first-time voters to the polls, we can deliver the margin of victory Democrats need this fall.  This new program also promises an impact well beyond November, because this group is more minority, more progressive and younger than the traditional midterm voting demographic. By turning these first-time voters into regular political participants, we can help to make permanent the change we fought for in 2008.

Be part of this bold new effort. You don't need to be an Evanston resident to participate, and no experience is necessary.  All the materials and info you need will be provided; you just need to bring your enthusiasm and your belief that people working together can build a better America.  Click here to sign up or call Executive Director Toni Gilpin at 847 494-7302 for more details.  Be sure you're on our email list to be kept up to date.

"Change will not come if we wait for some other person or some other time.

We are the ones we've been waiting for. We are the change that we seek."

Barack Obama, 2008

The DPOE offers numerous volunteer opportunities and we welcome your participation.  We need you to help change our community, our state, and our nation.  Be sure you are on our email list and you'll hear about new volunteer initiatives as they develop.

We also encourage you to join one of our committees; our committees plan our events, shape our website, suggest forums, and help us recruit new members. They are the backbone of our organization and we invite you to take part in their activities.

If you have questions or would like to talk more about volunteering in any of these areas, please contact Executive Director Toni Gilpin at tonigilpin.dpoe@gmail.com or at 847 494-7302.  We look forward to hearing from you and we truly value your support and your assistance.
