Join Quinn, Schakowsky at our annual meeting

Gov. Pat Quinn will address Evanston Democrats at the annual meeting.

Please join us as Gov. Pat Quinn and key Illinois Democrats analyze the political landscape at the Democratic Party of Evanston Annual Meeting from 4-6 p.m on June 13 at Beth Emet Synagogue, 1224 Dempster.

Quinn will be joined by Congresswoman Jan Schakowsky, State Sen. Jeff Schoenberg, State Rep. nominee Robyn Gabel, Cook County Commissioner Larry Suffredin and Water Commissioner Debra Shore, with likely appearances by senate candidate Alexi Giannoulias and state comptroller candidate David Miller.

In addition to getting the inside scoop on the upcoming mid-term elections, we'll salute the many volunteers whose energy, talent and hard work invigorates the Democratic Party.  And we'll also report on Advancing Change 2010, our path-breaking initiative with Organizing for America. There will be refreshments and a chance to chat with board members and elected officials.

Official business at the meeting, open to all current members, will allow members to confirm our slate of officers and new board members (see below). We will also vote on proposed amendments to our by-laws, including an amendment to make our Director of Issues an executive position in order to reflect the importance of issues to our membership.
