Then join us Sunday, Feb. 12 for a fun "speed-dating" fundraiser that will give you a chance to have a series of brief, one-to-one sit-downs with candidates and political leaders. For voters it's a chance to get to know the people behind those names on the ballot. Candidates will have a chance to win each voter's heart, but they will only have one minute to do it! The fundraiser, which will include appetizers and a cash bar, will enable the Democrat Party of Evanston's important campaign work in this critical election year. As you may know, we do not receive financial support from national, state or county party organizations--or from the Obama campaign. Your support is critical to our grassroots organizing efforts, which include gathering petitions, stuffing envelopes, making buttons, canvasing door-to-door, organizing voter protection efforts, educating voters on issues and sending volunteers where they are most needed. 

The fund-raiser begins at 6 p.m Sunday, Feb. 12 at Prairie Moon Restaurant, 1502 Sherman, Evanston. Tickets are $40 for Democratic Party of Evanston members and $50 for non-members. Candidate tickets are $100.
